Selcio Commercial License Agreement

By downloading or using any Selcio sound product ("the Product"), you agree to this license. If you do not agree, do not use the Product.

This agreement applies to every sound product offered by Selcio, including products in the Modulo line and any future Selcio sound releases, unless a specific product is supplied with its own separate license, in which case that license governs that product instead of this one.

In this agreement, "the Sounds" means all audio files, modules, pre-bounced stacks, recipes, source recordings (where included), metadata, and accompanying project files and materials in the Product.

What each product and tier includes (the number of sounds, any source recordings, and any update window) is described on the product page and in the product's README. Those details describe what you receive; they do not change the rights and restrictions set out below.

 

1. GRANT OF LICENSE

Selcio grants you a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual license to use the Sounds under the terms below. This is a license to USE the Sounds, not a transfer of ownership. Selcio retains all rights, title, and intellectual property in the Sounds.

This license is granted to a single user (one seat). For team or studio use across multiple people, contact hello@selcio.com for a multi-seat license.

 

2. WHAT YOU MAY DO

  • Use the Sounds in your own commercial and personal projects: paid client work, monetized content (YouTube, social, advertising), film, games, apps, and broadcast.
  • Use the Sounds in unlimited projects, forever.
  • Edit, layer, process, pitch, retime, and combine the Sounds freely as part of your productions.
  • Deliver finished audiovisual work containing the Sounds to your clients.

 

3. WHAT YOU MAY NOT DO

  • Redistribute, resell, share, sublicense, or give away the Sounds as standalone audio files, in whole or in part, in their original or a substantially similar form.
  • Include the Sounds in any other sound-effects library, sample pack, sound-design product, template, or competing product in which the Sounds themselves are the deliverable.
  • Use the Sounds, in whole or in part, to train, develop, or fine-tune any generative AI, machine-learning, or audio-synthesis model, or to build any dataset for those purposes.
  • Claim authorship or ownership of the Sounds themselves.

The simple test: you may use the Sounds INSIDE your finished work; you may not redistribute the Sounds AS sounds.

 

4. SOURCE RECORDINGS (where included)

Where a product or tier includes source recordings (raw and processed field captures), they are covered by this same license. You may use them in your own work under Section 2, and they are subject to the same restrictions in Section 3, including the redistribution and AI-training restrictions.

 

5. NO ATTRIBUTION REQUIRED

You are not required to credit Selcio. Credit is always appreciated but never obligatory.

 

6. UPDATES (where included)

Some products or tiers include free updates for a period after release. Whether a product or tier includes updates, and the length of any update window, is stated on its product page and in its README. Where updates are provided, they are covered by this same license and given "as is," with no guarantee of specific content or timing. A product or tier with no stated update window is complete at purchase.

 

7. WARRANTY AND LIABILITY

The Sounds are provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Selcio is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the Sounds. You are responsible for confirming the Sounds suit your intended use.

 

8. TERMINATION

This license is perpetual unless you breach its terms, in which case it terminates automatically and you must delete all copies of the Sounds.

 

9. GENERAL

This is the entire agreement regarding the Sounds. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect. This agreement is governed by the laws of Sweden.

Selcio may revise these terms for future products. The version included with your download, in effect at the time of your purchase, governs your license to that product; later revisions do not reduce the rights you received with an earlier purchase.
