Finished, layerable sounds for the moments your visuals move — the hit on a cut, the weight under a transition, the breath after a beat drop.

  1. Find the moment your visual moves — a cut, a transition, a drop.
  2. Grab a ready-made stack, or snap together the hit, the weight, and the breath.
  3. Drop it at the cut. Done.

Before / After

Before: a quick, generic pass, using stock sounds.

After: the same moments built with Modulo.

How The System Works

Every sound is made of three parts: the hit (transient), the weight (body), and the breath (tail).

  • The hit is the snap of impact.
  • The weight is the body underneath it, like the low end of a car engine.
  • The breath is the tail, how it fades out, like reverb.

Those three parts are your building blocks. Each one comes in many variations, so you're mixing from a palette, not just three files. Pick one of each, layer them on your timeline where the visual moves, and your work sounds like it had a sound designer on it.

What's inside

Three things, organized around how you work:

  1. Ready-made stacks. Finished sounds you drag straight onto your timeline. Zero assembly.
  2. Individual modules. The hit, weight, and breath building blocks, sorted by sound family, to mix and match for custom moments.
  3. Recipe cards. Visual step-by-steps showing exactly which modules to combine for a given result, so you never start from a blank timeline.

Plus a metadata sheet for fast searching, a quick-start README, and your commercial license. Exact counts per tier are in the comparison table below.

Keep Your Subscription

Already using Artlist or Epidemic Sound? Good. Keep it for music. Use Modulo for your sound moments — the hit, the weight, and the breath that your subscription wasn't designed to provide.

Your subscription gives you ingredients. Modulo gives you recipes.

€15/month = €180/year, recurring. Modulo: €60 once, forever.

FAQ

What is Modulo?

Modulo is a modular sound system for visual editors.

Every sound is made of three parts: the hit (transient), the weight (body), and the breath (tail). The hit is the snap of impact. The weight is the body underneath it, like the low end of a car engine. The breath is the tail, how it fades out, like reverb.

Those three parts are your building blocks. Each one comes in many variations, so you're mixing from a palette, not just three files. Pick one of each, layer them on your timeline where the visual moves, and your work sounds like it had a sound designer on it.

Every release includes pre-built stacks (drag and drop, zero assembly) and the individual modules (mix and match for custom results).

For a full breakdown, see the comparison table above.

What's the difference between the tiers?
  • Editor tier gives you the full system with 3–4 variants per module, everything you need to start sounding better immediately.

  • Producer adds deeper variant libraries, NLE session templates, and export presets, and a 3-month window of free stack and recipe additions = for editors who want more creative options and professional workflow tools.

  • Director adds the sound-architecture education (video breakdowns of why the sounds work, processing chain documentation), exclusive sound families, and First-Year Updates = for visual editors who want to understand the system, not just use it. At launch you get the Crystalline exclusive family and the 599-file source recordings vault; the Electric Family and the education content roll out across the first year after launch, free.

For a full breakdown, see the comparison table above.

What's included in the commercial license?

A single-seat commercial license.

You can use the sounds in any project you're paid for.

That includes client work, freelance, your own content.

No royalty fees. No credit required.

One license per person.

See the full License Agreement for more information.

Who are 'visual editors'? Is this for me?

If you cut video and care about how it sounds, Modulo was built for you.

That includes freelance video editors, motion designers, AMV editors, music video editors, content creators editing their own footage, and visual artists working with time-based media.

The common thread isn't a job title, it's that you're making editorial cuts and want them to feel intentional.

Whether you're cutting a client commercial in Premiere Pro or a fan edit in CapCut, the modular system works the same way.

If you've ever dragged a generic whoosh onto your timeline and thought "close enough," you're the person this was designed for.

Why not just use free SFX?

Free SFX libraries give you thousands of unorganized files.

You spend hours digging, layering sounds that weren't designed to combine, and settling for close-enough.

Modulo gives you a system with stems designed to work together, organized by the exact moment in your edit.

The time you save on your first project pays for Modulo.

I already have Artlist / Epidemic Sound. Why do I need this?

Artlist gives you 72,000 sounds and no system for combining them.

You're still digging and guessing.

Modulo gives you organized building blocks across 4 sound families: the hit, the weight, the breath, that you arrange into exactly the moment your cut needs.

They solve different problems.

Most Modulo users keep their subscription AND use Modulo for precision sound moments.

Your subscription gives you ingredients. Modulo gives you recipes.

What software does this work with?

Any video editor that supports WAV files: Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, CapCut.

The modules are standard 96kHz / 24-bit WAV files with no plugin dependencies.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. 100% of your purchase applies as credit toward any higher tier. No deadline, no expiry.

Already heard it work?

The purchase just expands what you've already validated.

Buy Editor. If you want more, 100% of your purchase applies as credit toward Producer or Director. No deadline.
